  • Pin-Golf style tournament
  • 9 hole qualifying round, followed by 3 hole match play finals
  • Top half of the field advances to finals

2018 Winter Cup Pin-Golf Tournament

The second annual Winter Cup Pin-Golf style tournament will be held on February 17th, 2018. This is an IFPA-sanctioned tournament with 100% of the entry fees going towards the prize pool. With an informal Pin-Golf style tournament, the focus is on fun and camaraderie.

General Course Rules:
  • Last tee-time by 2:00pm! All entrants must start playing by 2:00pm.
  • Extra balls are counted as a continuation of the current ball being played, NOT an additional stroke.
  • Once a player reaches the target goal, they should record their strokes and plunge any remaining balls to keep things moving.
  • Tilting another players ball will result in an automatic score of 6 strokes awarded to the offending player for that hole.
  • The player whose ball was tilted will replay the hole after the group completes their game, ONLY if the player did not already reach the target goal.
  • Slam tilting a game in progress will result in an automatic score of 6 strokes awarded to the offending player for that hole. A second offense will result in a disqualification from the entire tournament.
  • Bang backs and death saves are not allowed.
  • Rulings will adhere to the PAPA/IFPA Tournament Rules as closely as possible.

Qualifying Round:
  • Players will be put in groups of 2, 3, or 4, depending on turn out and time constraints.
  • Each player in the group will play for a goal indicated on the machine.
  • The number of balls played to reach the indicated goal will be counted as "Strokes".
  • Each game counts as a single hole.
  • Once a group completes a hole, the group will move to the next hole.
  • The qualifying round will be 9 holes (9 games).
  • There is a maximum of 6 strokes per hole.
  • If a player does not reach the goal within 5 balls played, their score will be recorded as a 6 (6 strokes).
  • Lowest scoring player (fewest strokes) plays first on the next hole. Second lowest score plays next, and so on.
  • After all 9 holes have been played, each player will play a mulligan hole for a chance to replace one hole's score.
  • At the end of qualifying (9 holes), the top half of all players with the fewest strokes will advance to the finals.
  • Ties will attempt to be broken by a formula. If tie breakers are still needed, players will compete in a group on a single randomly chosen machine for high score.
Finals Round:
  • Top half of the field from qualifying will advance to the finals round.
  • Seeding is based on the number of strokes from qualifying, with the lowest total strokes as the top seed.
  • Players will be assigned to a group of 3 or 4 according to seed.
  • Each group will play a total of three holes.
  • The two players with the lowest number of strokes after three holes will advance to the next group, with the other player(s) being eliminated each round.
  • Matches will continue until there are two remaining players, who will play a finals round head to head.
  • In the event that there are 5 remaining players for the semi-finals, all players will play the same holes with the top two advancing to the finals and the bottom three players playing another round to determine final standings.
  • Ties will be broken on a single game played for high score to determine final position.
  • Winner of the finals head to head match will be declared the 2018 Winter Cup Champion.

HOLE #1 - Sorcerer
Par 2

Light Spinners
  • Shoot spot targets to collect corresponding letters in S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R
  • Collect all letters in S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R to light spinners
  • S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R letters will hold over for player from ball to ball
  • Tilting will reset all S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R progress
  • Once spinners are lit, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #2 - Cosmic Gunfight
Par 3

Earn Cosmic Ball
  • Complete the 9 insert ABC grid on the left side
  • Hold one flipper and tap the other to change the ABC row on the 9 insert ABC grid
  • Once grid is completed, the player number will light on the bottom right of the backglass
  • Once the Cosmic Ball light is lit for the player, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #3 - Gorgar
Par 4

Collect a 15k Eject Hole Value
  • Complete top left side G-O-R drop targets to light GOR
  • Complete middle G-A-R drop targets to light GAR
  • Once both sets are complete, left side kick out hole will advance
  • Completing both sets of drop targets ONCE will advance the kick out hole to 10,000
  • Completing both sets of drop targets TWICE will advance the kick out hole to 15,000
  • Shoot left side kick out hole when lit for 15,000
  • Once left side kick out hole is made at the 15,000 value, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #4 - The Walking Dead
Par 3

Kill 10 Walkers
  • Shoot any red flashing crosshair shot
  • Each lit crosshair shot made scores one Walker kill
  • Shoot 10 lit crosshairs to kill 10 Walkers
  • Walker kills are tracked by the numerical inserts surrounding the Last Man Standing insert directly above the flippers
  • Extra Ball will also be lit at Woodbury once 10 Walkers have been killed
  • Once the 10 insert is lit above the flippers, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #5 - Spider-man (VE)
Par 3

Start one white arrow timed mode
  • To start a timed mode, shoot all white Spider arrows
  • The final white arrow before starting a timed mode will be an outer loop
  • Shoot the final white arrow outer loop shot to start a timed mode
  • Mode inserts are located above the flippers
  • The white mode inserts track any started timed modes
  • Once a white mode arrow above the flippers is lit or flashing, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #6 - World Poker Tour
Par 2

Advance one city by playing Texas Hold 'em
  • Complete Texas Hold 'em poker hands to advance cities
  • Your Texas Hold 'em hand cards are displayed in the 7 pairs of LED displays in the center of the playfield
  • You can advance your hand from the shooter lane by plunging your ball when the Advance Hold 'em skill shot light is lit
  • Shooting either ramp will advance your Texas Hold 'em hand while a ball is in play
  • When you complete the first Texas Hold 'em poker hand, you will advance to the next city
  • Ace in the Hole multi-ball setting is EXTRA HARD
  • Once one city is lit solid and another is flashing, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #7 - Jack•Bot
Par 2

Play two Casino games
  • Shoot the Game Saucer between the left ramp and the visor to start a casino game
  • The Game Saucer is lit when a casino game insert is flashing
  • Game Saucer is lit at the start of the game and stays in memory from ball to ball
  • Game Saucer does not automatically re-light at the start of a new ball
  • Re-light the Game Saucer by shooting the left ramp when RE-LIGHT GAME SAUCER is flashing above ramp
  • Game Saucer may also be re-lit by hitting a lit white Keno arrow when the Keno grid is partially filled in
  • Game Saucer may also be re-lit upon successful doubling of a casino game award by shooting the Cashier under the left ramp
  • Once two casino game inserts are solidly lit, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #8 - Abra Ca Dabra
Par 3

Knock down all drop targets
  • Shoot raised drop targets
  • Dropped targets stay dropped from ball to ball
  • Once all drop targets are down at the same time, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

HOLE #9 - Terminator 2
Par 4

Start Payback Time
  • Shoot lit ramps to increase the Security Level
  • Light ramps by alternating ramp shots
  • Advance to the 10th Security Level (light both CPUs) to start Payback Time
  • Once Payback Time is started one time, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

MULLIGAN - Tommy
Par 3

Start Multi-ball
  • Shoot the mirror to spell TOMMY and lower the mirror
  • Once mirror is lowered, shoot the mirror hole or the left scoop to start multi-ball
  • Multi-ball is automatically qualified by ball 3 but you must start it with either shot
  • Once multi-ball is started, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

BACKUP - Blackout
Par 2

Light 2 of the 5 Blackout Eject Hole inserts
  • There are 5 inserts in a row to the left of the Blackout Eject Hole and under the far right spinner
  • The GREEN 5,000 insert is lit from hitting all 5 green stand up targets on the left side of the playfield
  • The RED 5,000 insert is lit by dropping the three middle drop targets in the center of the playfield
  • The ORANGE 5,000 insert is lit by dropping the three upper right drop targets
  • The BLACKOUT insert can be lit by completing the upper right drop targets 3 times on the same ball
  • The EXTRA BALL insert CANNOT be lit to count towards goal progress
  • Once you have 2 of the 5 inserts solidly lit, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing

BACKUP - F-14 Tomcat
Par 3

Collect Echo kill
  • Shoot left side kick back lane (Yagov) to advance kills
  • Shoot center stand up targets when kill is lit (inlane rollover) to also advance kills
  • Advance kills until you light the Echo kill
  • Once the Echo kill insert is lit, the goal is achieved and the player can stop playing
