2017 Winter Cup Pin-Golf Tournament

CCPL is organizing the first of an annual Winter Cup Pin-Golf style tournament. This is an IFPA-sanctioned tournament with 100% of the entry fees going towards the prize pool.

Everyone from the local pinball community is welcome to participate and get an introduction to what CCPL is all about. This is also a nice yearly celebration to kick off a new year of league play and tournaments. With an informal Pin-Golf style tournament, the focus is on fun and camaraderie.

General Course Rules:
  • Last tee-time by 2:00pm! All entrants must start playing by 2:00pm.
  • Extra balls are counted as a continuation of the current ball being played, NOT an additional stroke.
  • Once a player reaches the target goal, they should record their strokes and plunge any remaining balls to keep things moving.
  • Tilting another players ball will result in an automatic score of 6 strokes awarded to the offending player for that hole.
  • The player whose ball was tilted will replay the hole after the group completes their game, ONLY if the player did not already reach the target goal.
  • Slam tilting a game in progress will result in an automatic score of 6 strokes awarded to the offending player for that hole. A second offense will result in a disqualification from the entire tournament.
  • Bang backs and death saves are not allowed.
Qualifying Round:
  • Players will be put in groups of 2, 3, or 4, depending on turn out and time constraints.
  • Each player in the group will play for a goal indicated on the machine.
  • The number of balls played to reach the the indicated goal will be counted as "Strokes".
  • Each game counts as a single hole.
  • Once a group completes a hole it will move to the next hole.
  • The qualifying round will be 9 holes (9 games).
  • There is a maximum of 6 strokes per hole.
  • If a player does not reach the goal within 5 balls played, their score will be recorded as a 6 (6 strokes).
  • Lowest scoring player (fewest strokes) plays first on the next hole. Second lowest score plays next, and so on.
  • After all 9 holes have been played, each player will play a mulligan hole for a chance to replace one hole's score.
  • At the end of qualifying (9 holes), the top half of all players with the fewest strokes will advance to the finals.
  • In the case of needed tie breakers, players will compete in a group on a single randomly chosen machine for high score.
Finals Round:
  • Top half of the field from qualifying will advance to the finals round.
  • Seeding is based on the number of strokes from qualifying, with the lowest total strokes as the top seed.
  • Players will be assigned to a group of 4 according to seed.
  • Each group will play a total of three holes.
  • The two players with the lowest number of strokes after three holes will advance to the next group, with two players being eliminated each round.
  • Matches will continue until there is one remaining player.
  • The final remaining player will be declared the 2017 Winter Cup Champion.

HOLE #1 - Sorcerer
Par 2

Light Spinners
  • Shoot spot targets to collect corresponding letters in S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R
  • Collect all letters in S-O-R-C-E-R-E-R to light spinners

HOLE #2 - Space Shuttle
Par 3

Collect a Shuttle Value
  • Shoot spot targets and center drop target to collect corresponding letters in S-H-U-T-T-L-E
  • Collect the final letter in S-H-U-T-T-L-E to score the lit Shuttle value

HOLE #3 - Gorgar
Par 3

Collect 15k Eject Hole Value
  • Complete top left side G-O-R drop targets to light GOR
  • Complete middle G-A-R drop targets to light GAR
  • Once both sets are complete, left side kick out hole will advance
  • Completing both sets of drop targets TWICE will advance the kick out hole to 15,000
  • Shoot left side kick out hole when lit for 15,000

HOLE #4 - Doctor Who
Par 3

Play Video Mode Twice
  • Shoot right side spot targets to light corresponding letter in E-S-C-A-P-E
  • A ball rolling into the Tardis (blue police box) from the pop bumpers will also spot a letter in ESCAPE
  • Light all letters in ESCAPE to qualify video mode
  • Shoot the Build Transmat lane (top left lane) and through the pop bumpers into the Tardis to start video mode
  • Repeat to re-start Wave 1 video mode or play Wave 2 video mode, both will complete the goal

HOLE #5 - The Walking Dead
Par 3

Kill 10 Walkers and collect extra ball
  • Shoot any red flashing crosshair shots
  • Each lit crosshair shot made scores one Walker kill
  • Kill 10 walkers to light extra ball at Woodbury
  • Shoot Woodbury to collect walker kill extra ball

HOLE #6 - Star Trek (Stern)
Par 3

Start Three Level 1 Modes
  • Must start three different level 1 modes, not a level 2 or level 3 of the same mode
  • Shoot left kick-out hole or shooter lane (under top-right flipper) to start a mode when lit
  • Choose any level 1 mode and play through until the mode ends, completed or not
  • Start two more level 1 modes in the same manner
  • Third and final mode just needs to be started, not played through until mode end

HOLE #7 - F-14 Tomcat
Par 3

Collect Echo kill
  • Shoot left side kick back lane (Yagov) to advance kills
  • Shoot center stand up targets when kill is lit (inlane rollover) to also advance kills
  • Advance kills until you light the Echo kill

HOLE #8 - Terminator 2
Par 3

Start Payback Time
  • Shoot lit ramps to increase the Security Level
  • Light ramps by alternating ramp shots
  • Advance to the 10th Security Level (light both CPUs) to start Payback Time

HOLE #9 - Rack 'em Up
Par 4

Collect all stripes or all solids
  • Shoot flashing pool balls to collect that ball
  • Collect a full set of stripes OR solids

MULLIGAN - Tommy
Par 3

Start Multi-ball
  • Shoot the mirror to spell TOMMY and lower the mirror
  • Once mirror is lowered, shoot the mirror hole or the left scoop to start multi-ball
  • Multi-ball is automatically qualified by ball 3 but you must start it with either shot

  • Top kick-out hole spots rotating letter in B-L-A-C-K
  • Shoot each spot target corresponding to a letter in P-Y-R-A-M-I-D
  • Completing right side inline drop targets qualifies right side star rollover to spot BLACK the first time and PYRAMID the second time

Start Four Modes
  • Shoot lit BUILD CHAIN shots at the left ramp or top right Sniper hole to start lit mode
  • Either complete the mode or let it timeout to relight the BUILD CHAIN shots
  • Start a total of four modes in this manner
